About
The emergence of human beings traces back to Africa's shifting landscapes and climatic changes. Thirty-five million years ago, great apes thrived across Africa, Europe, and Asia. However, as the Earth cooled over 15 million years, forests shrank, leaving apes isolated. Ardipithecus ramidus, an extinct species, emerged in Ethiopia 4.5 million years ago, exhibiting bipedalism. Climate shifts, including rift formation and mountain formation, led to habitat diversification. Homo Erectus adapted by using tools and consuming meat, spreading across warmer regions by 1 million years ago. In Europe, Neanderthals evolved, but faced extinction. Meanwhile, Homo Sapiens in Africa persisted through challenges like desertification and volcanic eruptions, eventually spreading globally around 30,000 years ago, diversifying into modern human populations.
