    In 1991, before tablets and smart phones, a study found that preschool-aged children were able to identify 300 company logos. Let us instead take time to learn the names of the plants local to our communities. This series will be focused on identifying, collecting, and creating with nature.

    Children will explore Flutter with a Field Guide that includes artist Saya Woolfalk's question, "What kind of world do you want to live in?" After lunch, they will make their own dessert of colorful cream puffs, then collaborate to turn a giant cardboard box into their own immersive artwork.

    Children will receive a guided tour of the CAF Aviation Museum, get to climb into a fighter jet cockpit, learn about the evolution of aviation technology, have lunch, enjoy dessert at a classic American diner, play at Mission Oaks Park, and build their own model airplanes.

    Children will learn about and look for self-similar patterns in nature as they explore the 16,000 sq ft conservatory. They will enjoy exotic fruit with their lunch, break to play in the Children's Garden, and then draw their found examples of life cycles and constuctal design.

    Children will visit a cat cafe to help socialize the shelter cats there, and after lunch, enjoy a dessert the cafe offers. Following, they will set up and execute a hilarious community fundraiser to raise funds for an animal shelter. There will be a follow-up Zoom call for the group one week later.

    Children will learn about the 3,000 yr old art of Chinese Garden design, and explore the garden with a scavenger hunt of classical features. They will enjoy mooncakes with thier lunch, break to play in the Children's Garden, then paint traditionally Chinese Ink Wash watercolor pieces to take home.

    Children will receive a guided tour of JPL, observe NASA scientists and engineers at work, learn about previous missions, have lunch with astronaut food for dessert, and create their own craters in a messy experiment that mimics the surface of the moon while teaching about asteroid impacts.

    Children will explore the Malibu Hindu temple, have lunch, and try the Indian food served at the temple. They will then visit the Bhagavad Gita Museum, and finally, create their own mala bead bracelets out of real stone.

    Children will discuss and explore the answer to this question in the Modern Art Exhibit at LACMA, complete a scavenger hunt that asks them to find pieces that make them feel cozy, excited, etc, have lunch on the lawn and play at a local park before completing their own abstract piece on canvas.
